Why do we do it this way?
It’s actually pretty simple.
The power of a collective group of talented, focused and driven individuals outweighs the “power of one” tens of thousands of times.
Many of the most powerful, successful people in history understood this and used it to take their business and lives to incredible heights.
Many of these mastermind groups weren’t even very publicly known… like:
The Vagabonds – Just imagine a room with Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Warren G. Harding and Harvey Firestone. 4 of the most powerful people of that time sharing ideas, philosophies and plans for growing and maintaining their empires and their power.
The Chicago “Big” 6 – This group notably included William Hertz and Charles Wrigley and 4 other well known Chicago businessmen. They got together and within just a few years of creating this mastermind… were all multi-millionaires.
But don’t for a second think that these groups were limited to just entrepreneurs and businessmen…
The Inklings – Brought together some of the most amazing literary minds of their time with CS Lewis, JRR Tolkien, Charles Williams and Owen Barfield. They would meet in pubs and collaborate openly about their stories and ideas. The result? Some of the best literature the world has ever seen.
And it doesn’t stop there.
Walt Disney had a secret mastermind of 9 people who he trusted implicitly and helped grow and evolve his vision.
Franklin Roosevelt had, what he called his "Brain Trust."
Benjamin Franklin created a mastermind he named “The Leather Apron Club”
And if you want to go way, WAY back even King Arthur was surrounded (literally!) by the Knights of the Round Table.
Fast forward to modern society and it’s still true…
Sir Richard Branson puts it this way – “Succeeding in business is all about making connections.”
Not to mention… Warren Buffet and Bill Gates have been friends (and collaborators!) for over 30 years… and both of them are adamant that their networks are where their real power is.
You think it’s coincidence that BOTH of them have been “the richest man in the world” during their own lifetimes? Yeah, me either.
Why is this concept SO powerful?
Because collaborative Masterminds don’t cater to a single person, everybody gets the benefit.
Look… you’re GREAT at what you do (or you wouldn’t be considering this in the first place)
I was GREAT at what I was doing, but I realized that trying to eke out what I REALLY needed to know was like trying to drive somewhere unknown with no map.
Meeting and networking with other successful entrepreneurs is like installing a new GPS app on your phone. Avoid the wrong turns, and traffic jams.
Masterminds elevate everyone with shared knowledge, wisdom, ideas, resources and more.
